Overview
DePIN, or decentralized physical infrastructure networks, use blockchain-based token incentives to coordinate and crowdsource the building of real-world infrastructure such as wireless networks, energy grids, and computing capacity. Instead of a single company deploying infrastructure, a network of individuals contributes hardware and is rewarded with tokens. DePIN turns physical infrastructure into an open, incentivized marketplace.
How It Works
Participants purchase or operate hardware, such as hotspots, sensors, or compute nodes, and provide a service to the network. The network measures usage and rewards contributors with tokens proportional to the value they provide.
